Two nations. One Mission. Water security for a changing climate.

In response to increasing water scarcity, climate variability, and growing agricultural and municipal water demands, integrated “One Water” approaches are gaining global traction. This presentation will be delivered by a newly formed international collaboration between the One Basin Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) in Australia and the One Water Program at Texas A&M University in the United States, established during the 2025 ASABE Annual International Meeting in Toronto, Canada. While operating at different spatial scales, basin-wide hydrology in Australia’s Murray–Darling Basin and onsite one water systems for individual properties in Texas, both programs share a common objective: integrating all available water resources into circular, closed-loop systems that enhance resilience, sustainability, and community confidence in water supply.
