Education & training
Nurturing the scientific leaders of the future is integral to the One Basin CRC’s vision. Our education and training program has been designed to build capability and develop highly effective leaders, managers and workers who are able to manage risks and opportunities in a changing Murray–Darling Basin.
We are working on complex water and sustainability challenges in Australia’s most valuable and productive agricultural region, researching opportunities with real-world application and providing generous support.
Together with our partners, we are developing critical capabilities in cutting-edge science, data and technology, as well as building knowledge, leadership and communication skills across key sectors.
One Basin CRC has three focus areas across our Education and Training program:
- Industry-linked research and vocational training
- 48 industry-placed PhDs
- Undergraduate and masters student internships, training up to 180 students
- CRC-led advancements as inputs to TAFE programs
- An engaged One Basin CRC alumni of early career researchers
- Regional hub-based training and professional development programs
- Leadership, co-design, First Nations engagement and cultural awareness programs
- Innovation workshops for hub businesses and entrepreneurs
- Education and training initiatives embedded in place-based R&D demonstration projects
- Communities of interest spanning sectors, regions and disciplines
- One Basin online learning
A platform for national and international training providing:- Webinars for partners and the public
- Interest groups with customised training for CRC partners to build capacity and collaboration
- Bespoke training for CRC partners to build in-depth capability.
