Annual Partner Event 2026: Activating Impact
We’re excited for you to join us at the 2026 One Basin CRC Annual Partner Event: Activating Impact.

Renmark Club, Renmark, South Australia
August 19 – 20, 2026
Registration for this event has now closed. If you would like to attend but have missed the deadline, please email admin@onebasin.com.au.
Please be aware that this is an exclusive, invitation-only event for partners.
Theme: Activating Impact
Following our successful 2025 event, which showcased the breadth and depth of our research programs, this year we focus on impact pathways: celebrating the real-world outcomes we’re already achieving across the Basin, while exploring new opportunities to amplify and enhance this work. We’ll share stories of research in action and collaborate on innovative approaches to maximise the impact of our work for communities, industries, and ecosystems.
This event will also strengthen the partnerships and relationships that form the foundation of the One Basin CRC, bringing together our diverse community of researchers, industry leaders, government representatives, and regional stakeholders.
Join us as we discuss the collective challenges and opportunities facing the Murray–Darling Basin, and chart the course to a more resilient, productive, and sustainable future.
Transportation
Renmark is accessible by car or via Mildura Airport (1.5 hrs) or Adelaide Airport (3 hrs). To support flexible and sustainable travel to Renmark, optional carpooling is suggested. Two WhatsApp groups have been set up to facilitate carpooling: Adelaide to Renmark and Mildura to Renmark. If you are hiring a car and are happy to share a lift, or if you are seeking carpooling options, please join the relevant group to connect with other attendees and explore shared travel arrangements where possible. If you are interested in this, please email admin@onebasin.com.au and we’ll send you the relevant WhatsApp group link.
Please note that One Basin CRC does not organise, manage, or assume responsibility for any carpooling arrangements. Participation is entirely voluntary and undertaken at individual discretion. All travel is at your own risk, and One Basin CRC is providing this platform solely as a means to facilitate connections between participants. Participants are encouraged to follow all road safety rules and exercise caution when sharing transport with others.
Bus transport will be provided for scheduled site visits on Thursday 20 August.
Site visits
Attendees will once again be able to visit innovative local businesses in the Renmark/Riverland region. This year tours include:
Fat Goose Fruits
Fat Goose Fruits grow citrus the way nature intended, by utilising sustainable agricultural practices across their 23-hectare orchard. The Howie family has farmed this land for over a century, and today the operation spans a variety of organic citrus fruits, plus more recently introduced vines and pistachios. Visiting in August, the citrus will be in full swing, and other on farm highlights include a newly installed packing shed with impressive technological advancements, a small solar farm with batteries being introduced, and the opportunity to hear about water stewardship work as members of Water Stewardship Asia Pacific.
Renmark Irrigation Trust Environmental Watering Sites
Renmark Irrigation Trust (RIT) made history in 2016 as the first irrigation body in Australia to partner with the Commonwealth Environmental Water Holder, returning water to floodplain areas that had suffered long-term degradation. Today, the Trust manages thirteen active environmental watering sites across Renmark Paringa Council and Trust floodplains, delivering over 3 GL to inundate more than 125 hectares since the program began. Attendees will visit one of these sites to witness firsthand how environmental water is being used to support native floodplain species.
Additional Attendees
Each partner organisation has been allocated two tickets. If you would like to send additional attendees, extra tickets are available for $200 each to cover catering for the full event. To request additional tickets, please contact us at admin@onebasin.com.au
Change of plans
If you have registered but due to circumstances are unable to attend, or would like to nominate someone else from your organisation, please advise us at admin@onebasin.com.au as soon as possible. We are committed to minimising food waste and appreciate early notice of any changes to help us confirm accurate catering numbers.
One Basin CRC is monitoring the evolving fuel shortage situation: having consulted with our partners, we have decided to proceed with the event as planned.
