The Stockholm Resilience Centre, Global Resilience Partnership, and Future Earth have released “Resilience Science Must-Knows.” It distils decades of cutting-edge research into nine critical insights for decision-makers navigating our increasingly volatile world. The report explains that resilience is not just about bouncing back from crises. It is about balancing the capacities to cope with shocks, adapt to change, and transform unsustainable systems, while addressing the power imbalances and inequalities that often determine who is most vulnerable. Developed through collaboration with over 120 global researchers and tested with 162 leaders across policy, business, and civil society, these Must-Knows emphasise that investing in resilience today generates substantial returns while safeguarding the social, economic, and ecological foundations we all depend on.
