Video: Brackish groundwater desalination
One of our Quickstart projects, ‘Opportunities and challenges identifying, sourcing and treating brackish groundwater’ recently produced a short 3-minute video introducing their project.
You can check it out on YouTube.
It explores their pilot demonstration site at Century Orchards in Loxton, where a small reverse osmosis plant in a shipping container is being used to desalinate brackish groundwater. The water is used to irrigate an almond crop, while the brine is re-injected into a separate, more saline aquifer.
