Internships
One Basin CRC’s internship program provides tertiary students with exciting opportunities to help identify problems and develop solutions for our partners working in the Murray-Darling Basin.
Beyond the invaluable experience of working in the basin with our partners on their project, One Basin CRC interns will also be provided with opportunities to connect and network with other interns and our network of partners.
Who can apply
We offer select placements for undergraduates, honours and masters students enrolled at our partner universities, including:
- University of Sydney
- Australian National University
- Charles Sturt University
- The University of Melbourne
- University of Adelaide
- Flinders University.
Successful applicants will be invited to participate in an online forum as part of their internship, providing an opportunity to meet and network with other interns and CRC partners.
Application assessment
Applications for One Basin CRC internship projects will be assessed by the CRC and a panel of our industry partners.
Successful applicants will then negotiate the details of the internship directly with the industry partner, and work with your university to establish a formal agreement for the internship.
How it works
Step 1
Submit an expression of interest via the online form linked below to be included in the register of applicants for upcoming internship projects. We have over 70 industry partners, many of whom are able to host student interns for different durations and at various times of the year (including the summer period).
Step 2
Once on our register, you may be contacted directly by a CRC partner organisation and invited to apply for specific internship opportunities.
Step 3
Once you have secured an internship, you can apply for a student internship scholarship ($500 cash) – there are a limited number available each year.
Step 4
In addition to working with your One Basin CRC partner on your project, you will be invited to participate in CRC workshops, and enter your project in a video/poster competition; winners will also be invited toattend the CRC’s annual event in August of that year.
