Active PhD projects

This project will estimate the climate change impacts on irrigation water demand across the Murray–Darling Basin to help stakeholders adapt, and to pinpoint the areas with the highest agricultural potential and those most vulnerable to future water shortages.

This PhD project aims to improve current water distribution operations. By designing a generic framework to optimise pumping operations, the goal is to help operators better manage water demands and reduce energy expenses.

This PhD project will explore native Australian grasses for grain production, enhancing food security and sustainable agriculture. By identifying optimal growth conditions, it supports First Nations communities and promotes resilient, climate-adaptive farming practices.

Regenerative agriculture is an alternative sustainable practice to manage our agricultural landscape and as a potential solution to degraded land. This project will analyse hydrological impact of regenerative agriculture across the basin.
